AI Disclaimer
This page explains the limits of Drafty's AI-generated outputs and what professional advice they cannot replace. Read it carefully before acting on any plan or reel produced by Drafty.
§ 1Drafty is not a licensed professional
The output of Drafty does not constitute architectural, engineering, surveying, structural, horticultural, agronomic, or legal advice. Where local law requires a chartered or licensed professional (RIBA, RIAS, ICE, ICF, AILA, ASLA, or equivalent in your jurisdiction), Drafty does not replace that professional.
§ 2Plant climate adaptation
Drafty maps recommendations to general hardiness zones (USDA / RHS) and aspect, but cannot account for your microclimate, soil pH, drainage, local pests, prevailing wind, or wildlife pressure. A plant that survives in our reel may struggle in your patch — and vice versa.
Always confirm species selection and planting time with a local garden centre or nursery. Drafty's plant lists include alternatives where possible, but the final responsibility for plant choice and survival rests with you.
§ 3Structural, drainage, and electrical work
Anything that touches the structure of your home or land must be reviewed by a licensed professional in your jurisdiction. This includes, without limitation:
- Foundations, paving over utilities, raised decks at height, or anything that could affect house drainage.
- Boundary walls, fences exceeding the permitted height, retaining walls, or excavation near party walls.
- Garden lighting, irrigation pumps, electric vehicle charging, or any 230 V mains electrical work.
- Tree planting near drains, sewers, or buildings; tree removal where Tree Preservation Orders apply.
- Water features that store more than a small amount of water (drowning risk; potential building-control rules).
Drafty cannot detect any of these constraints. You must.
§ 4Planning permission & local rules
Many garden alterations require planning permission or building-control approval — varying by country, municipality, and conservation area. Examples include high fences, pergolas above a certain size, decking near boundaries, drainage changes, listed-building gardens, and protected trees.
Drafty is not aware of your local rules and will not check them. You are solely responsible for confirming and obtaining any required permission before starting construction.
§ 5Public land and other people's land
Drafty is for your patch — backyard, terrace, balcony, allotment, or land you have written consent to alter. Generating plans for land you do not own or have permission to modify is a violation of our Acceptable Use Policy.
§ 6Commercial and government use
Drafty plans and reels are not certified for commercial landscape engineering, public green-space tenders, government planning submissions, or any context that requires a stamp from a chartered professional. Atelier's commercial license covers small-business client deliverables presented alongside professional review — not as a substitute for it.
§ 7Quality and accuracy
Drafty's outputs are best-effort. They may contain factual errors, plant misidentifications, dimensional imprecision, or aesthetic choices that don't match your taste. Always sanity-check before buying plants or starting work.
§ 8Updates
AI capabilities change quickly. We may revise this disclaimer to reflect new model behaviour or new limits. The current version is dated 2026-05-06. Material changes will be notified by email.
